Long years ago I tried to get into Stephen King in keeping with my family tradition of horror-philia. In the short story "The Raft", he describes a dark oily organism floating on the surface of a lake that dissolves and devours its victims. It entices its victims in different ways, such as displaying ethereal hypnotic colors to humans, which makes them want to touch it. It gets a little bigger after each meal.
It didn't take a lot for me to decide to stay away not only from a writer whose head oozes ideas like these, but also from horror in general. But now and again, imagination runs wild, and vague shapes seep through the cracks....

"the elephant in musth ran wildly, with ichor oozing from its forehead..."..
I think the first sentence I read with the word "ooze" was something like this one..Though I didn't know the meaning of musth and ichor either..Gathering meaning from the context, I realised that the elephant was running :D..good enough, he he ..:P..

Can I say that most movies these days slooze
(Sleaze+ ooze)with unwanted exposure?

That reminds me. No, rings bells!

That was during the reign of DD. It was ahem! Narottam Puri and Suresh Saraiyya doing joint anchoring for "Sports Time" on sunday 3:30 PM. Narottam Puri was talking about a recent century made by Allan Border then. He goes something like "Suresh, the best part of his innings were his sweep shots of course but all along he was outright full of confidence, I would say he was oozing confidence whether it was pace or spin"

And that is when I first look up this word in my Merriam-Websters. Now say, can I ever afford to forget the word after so much? eh?

Yes, it was World of Sports, later changed to Sports Time by including a quiz also at the end.

Is it not interesting as to how 'ooze' is close to the word 'ooru' which in Telugu comes close to the meaning.

Other versions in Telugu are 'ooraTa' (the noun form) or its degenerate 'ooTa'.
